This wine cellar forms part of a larger basement-level entertainment space, which also includes a home cinema room and gym. The client’s brief was to create a dedicated wine room that would be compact, practical, and visually engaging, serving both storage and display functions.
The cellar is designed in natural oak. Two walls are fitted with full-height Sorrells racking, combining standard bottle storage with angled displays for presentation. The layout maximises use of the compact footprint while keeping the room open and easy to navigate.
A temperature control system was installed to maintain consistent conditions, ensuring the wine is stored at the correct temperature year-round, supporting long-term preservation of the collection.
As a contrasting feature, one wall of the cellar is dedicated to a large, custom artwork, introduced by the client to add colour and personality to the space. The result is a balanced room that serves a clear function but also feels expressive and curated, a wine cellar with both purpose and presence.
