Located in the heart of Covent Garden, 10 Cases is a celebrated independent wine bar and bistro known for its focused, rotating wine list and relaxed, quality-driven dining experience. As part of an expansion into private dining and events, the team approached Sorrells to create a dedicated wine cellar and tasting space that would serve both storage and guest-facing functions.
The brief was to design a cellar that felt integrated into the fabric of the venue, practical for day-to-day use, but also atmospheric enough to act as a backdrop for intimate private dinners and wine-led events.
The wine cellar is positioned directly beside the private dining room, with a clear view into the space, making the wine collection part of the guest experience. With this visibility in mind, the racking was designed to present bottles at their best, combining functionality with strong visual appeal.
A significant portion of the room features angled racking, allowing labels to be clearly displayed while guiding the eye across the space. This is complemented by a cascading bottle display, creating a dynamic central feature that adds rhythm and structure to the layout.
Beyond the main cellar, a smaller, temperature-controlled display cabinet was introduced to house a curated selection of wines under ideal storage conditions. This zone provides both flexibility for service and an additional point of focus for guests.
The result is a wine room that supports daily operations while acting as an extension of the dining space, designed to showcase the collection and enrich the experience of the room it sits within.
