Sorrells was commissioned by The Beaumont Hotel, an iconic five-star destination in Mayfair, to design and manufacture two bespoke pieces for its restaurant: a suite of temperature-controlled, metal fabricated wine walls and a custom-built waiter’s station. The brief focused on creating storage and service elements that would meet the operational demands of the restaurant while enhancing the hotel’s refined aesthetic.
Working closely with the hotel team, Sorrells developed both installations to reflect the venue’s visual identity and service flow, combining durable materials, thoughtful detailing, and functionality tailored to daily use.
The primary feature is a run of temperature-controlled wine walls, positioned within the hotel’s restaurant to showcase the wine list and provide immediate access for the team. Each wine wall is framed in custom metalwork, designed and manufactured in-house by Sorrells. The framework and doors were powder-coated to a bespoke finish, chosen to complement the interior palette.
Internally, the wine walls are configured to store and display a broad range of bottles, each set to the correct serving temperature to support restaurant service. The clean structure and custom finish allow the wine walls to act as both functional storage and a visual statement within the dining space.
Alongside the wine walls, Sorrells also built a bespoke waiter’s station. Constructed in purpose-made joinery and topped with marble, the unit provides a practical surface for preparing drinks and supporting front-of-house service. Storage has been configured to suit daily operations, ensuring everything required by the team is within easy reach.
By taking time to understand the flow of the restaurant and the needs of its team, Sorrells delivered two pieces that combine efficiency, elegance, and purpose built to perform and designed to last.
